The Origin of the Association

In 2001, we candidated for the organization of YAPC::Europe 2002. To deal with sponsors and with suppliers and to collect the participations fees, we needed a formal structure. So we registered an Association loi de 1901 (non-profit association).

Note: YAPC::Europe 2002 was organized by the Munich Perl Mongers, but we organized YAPC::Europe 2003 in Paris.
